UPDATED: Fentanyl, cash seized in bust | Local News

The dangerous painkiller fentanyl was among the narcotics recovered Thursday in a Limestone County drug bust, which also yielded three arrests, an official said.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Office deputy and spokesman Stephen Young said oxycodone, crack cocaine, marijuana and alprazolam were also seized at a home on Belmont Circle. The amount of fentanyl seized was about 2.2 grams.

More than $1,300 in cash and a Smith & Wesson pistol were also recovered.

Young said narcotics investigators had worked over the past month to develop the case, which led to a traffic stop at the intersection of Capshaw and East Limestone roads. The stop led to the execution of a search warrant at the Belmont Circle home. Madison County Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators assisted in the operation.

Dammon Hardin, 30, was arrested on charges of drug trafficking (fentanyl), two counts possession of a controlled substance, possession of a pistol by a violent felon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond had not been set on the trafficking charge.

The two others arrested were 62-year-old Larry Lee Jones and 32-year-old Darrius Spencer Hardin. Jones is charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), while Hardin is charged with second-degree illegal possession of marijuana. Both men are being held in the Limestone County Jail with bond set at $2,500.
