Vehicle accident leads to arrest of Morgantown woman on drug charge

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A Monongalia County woman has been arrested after deputies said they recovered drug paraphernalia in her purse and Fentanyl that was hidden inside of her bra.

On Thursday, May 2, deputies with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department observed a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Beechurst Avenue and 3rd Street in Morgantown. Deputies then asked the driver of the vehicle for her information. The driver initially provided law enforcement with two fake names and dates of birth before providing her real name. The driver identified herself as Audreyanna Young, 27, of Morgantown.

Upon running Young’s identity information, deputies learned that she was currently wanted through the Home Confinement Office. Young was then taken into custody and taken to the station for processing, according to a criminal complaint.

Young then admitted to law enforcement that she had Fentanyl hidden inside of her bra, deputies said. A female officer from the Morgantown Police Department was then able to locate the Fentanyl that was in Young’s bra, as well as a piece of paper wrapped in plastic that contained a powdered substance, deputies said.

Deputies said they also located a digital scale, numerous plastic bags for packaging, six folded wax papers containing a powdered substance, a piece of foil containing brown residue and two glass smoking devices containing a brown residue inside of Young’s purse.

Young has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. She is currently being held at North Central Regional Jail and her bail has been set at $25,000.
