Weymouth Police charged with identity of man charged in drug deal – News – The Wellesley Townsman

WEYMOUTH − Investigators are seeking the identity of a man arrested after a  suspected parking lot drug deal, police said.

The man, who is reportedly 31 years old and from Boston, provided officers with a Florida license with his picture but under another name.  The license was canceled in January because an imposter was using the name and license of a man who held a driver’s license issued in Puerto Rico, police said.

The suspect was charged with distribution of a Class A substance (heroin/Fentanyl), possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance, obstruction of justice, conspiracy to violate the drug laws, identity theft, unlicensed operation, possessing a forged Registry of Motor Vehicles document, furnishing false information to police and identity fraud

He was arraigned Thursday in Quincy District Court, and is being held at the Norfolk County Jail pending a court hearing on Wednesday

Weymouth Police Lt. John Perchard said in a statement that detectives were watching a parking lot at 575 Broad St. when they saw a woman who is a  known heroin/Fentanyl abuser pull into the lot and make phone call.  A few minutes later, a gray Jeep Patriot pulled into the lot and the woman got in,  She rode in the Jeep for approximately 100 yards towards the exit and was dropped off.

The Jeep was known to detectives from an ongoing narcotics investigation, Perchard said. A check of the license plate found the vehicle was not registered.

Officers encountered the woman as she made her way back to her vehicle and later recovered a bag of heroin/Fentanyl that she had swallowed.  The heroin/Fentanyl had been purchased from the driver of the Jeep for $100, Perchard said.

Police attempted to stop the Jeep on Bridge Street, but Perchard said the driver crouched down out of view and continued to drive several hundred yards before stopping in the middle of the Fore River Bridge.

Recovered from the driver of the Jeep was more than $700 in cash and two cellular telephones, police said.

While in custody, Perchard said the driver passed 11 bags of heroin/Fentanyl that he had swallowed during the motor vehicle stop.
