Weymouth police seek identity of drug suspect – News – Weymouth News

Police are trying to determine the identity of a who was charged with selling heroin/Fentanyl to a woman in a parking lot at 575 Broad St shortly before 6 p.m. on April 3.

Lt. John Perchard said the suspect identified himself as William Adino Sanchez, 31, of Boston, to officers who stopped him while he drove a Jeep Patriot across the Fore River Bridge.

“The (car) operator provided officers with a Florida license in the name of William Adino Sanchez,” he said. “The photograph on the license matched the operator of the Jeep. It was discovered that the license was not valid and was canceled indefinitely in January because an imposter was possibly using this name and license number.”

Perchard said officers determined the name on the Florida driver’s license matched the identity of a driver from Puerto Rico who was a victim of identity theft.

The Boston address provided by the man was also unknown, according to Perchard.

“The unknown male was placed under arrest for distribution of ..heroin/fentanyl, conspiracy to violated the Controlled Substance Act, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, possessing a forged Registry of Motor Vehicles document, furnishing false information and identify fraud,” Perchard said.

Police recovered more than $700 in cash from the vehicle and two cellular telephones, according to Perchard.

He said the man was also charged with obstruction of justice for swallowing 11 bags of heroin/fentanyl when officers stopped him on the Fore River Bridge.

“The suspect later passed 11 bags of heroin/fentanyl that he had swallowed during the motor vehicle stop,” he said.

Perchard said the man sold a bag of heroin/Fentanyl to a woman who is, “a known user of heroin/fentanyl,”  in the parking lot at 575 Broad St. shortly after she arrived in her car.

“The female exited her vehicle and was using her cellular telephone,” he said. “A few minutes later a gray Jeep Patriot pulled into the lot, and the female got into the passenger’s seat. The vehicle was known to detectives from an ongoing narcotics investigation.”

Perchard said the Jeep Patriot did not have a valid registration on file with the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

“The Jeep Patriot drove approximately 100 yards towards the exit and dropped the female off,” he said. “Officers encountered the female on the way back to her vehicle and later recovered a bag of heroin/Fentanyl that she had swallowed. The heroin/Fentanyl had been purchased from the operator of the Jeep for $100.”

Perchard said the woman was charged with possession of heroin/Fentanyl by detectives, but her name was not released under department protocols because it is a “simple possession charge.”

The man charged with drug offenses was arraigned in Quincy District Court on April 4 and is being held at the Norfolk County House of Correction.

He is scheduled for a pre-trial conference in Quincy District Court on Wednesday, April 10.
