A Penn Township woman was sentenced to 14 to 30 years in prison after selling a bundle of fentanyl-laced heroin that caused a Manheim man’s death in 2017.

Justina Heisey, 58, was pegged as a career criminal during the trial by Assistant District Attorney Barry Goldman before being sentenced. This is her 16th separate conviction, according to the district attorney’s office.

Heisey delivered a bundle of baggies, full of fentanyl-laced heroin and stamped “Cloud 9,” to a 48-year-old Manheim man on Dec. 15, 2017.  The man later died from the drugs.

Goldman said that Heisey got the heroin from a contact she made at state prison and picked up the batch in Philadelphia.

Heisey has also served jail time after a manslaughter conviction regarding a fatal DUI in Juniata County, hitting a boy with her vehicle as he was getting off the bus later that same year and a handful of retail thefts in Lancaster County in 2011, in which she asked the judge for “one more chance,” according to the district Aattorney’s office.

The jury deliberated for 15 minutes before deciding the case.
