Here’s a tour of Johnson City Police Department’s DWI room. It was created to provide a clean safe location to investigate whether a suspect is in fact driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Guns, cocaine, fentanyl and suboxone were seized at a Johnson City residence as part of a search warrant executed by Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force.

At an apartment on Farr Avenue, authorities found weapons including a sawed off shotgun, loaded .38-caliber revolver and a .22-caliber revolver.

They also recovered 12.6 grams of crack cocaine, 2.5 grams of fentanyl and suboxone sublingual strips, along with $2,100 in suspected drug sale proceeds.

Three people were charged as a result of the seizure.

  • Sierra L. Pearson, 19, of Binghamton, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, a felony.
  • Rachel Taborn, 42, of Johnson City, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, third-degree and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Anthony Burris, 41, of Johnson City, was charged with criminal possession of a fireman, third-degree and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence, all felonies. 

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force — it’s comprised of members of the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Binghamton Police Department, the Village of Johnson City Police Department and the Village of Endicott Police Department — was assisted by the Johnson City Police Department Patrol Division.
