24 Apr Mislabeled fentanyl patches recalled
Alvogen, a pharmaceutical company based in New Jersey, is recalling two lots of its transdermal fentanyl patches due to faulty product labeling.
The affected lots of Fentanyl Transdermal System 12 mcg/h transdermal patches were distributed to pharmacies.
Alvogen said a small number of cartons labeled as containing 12 mcg/h patches actually contain 50 mcg/h patches, which are individually labeled as having the 50 mcg/h dose.
3M Drug Delivery Systems manufacturers the product, which helps manage pain in opioid-tolerant patients.
