Our nation is overwhelmed; build the barriers

To the editor:

The mainstream media, both newspapers and television, seem to be missing major problems with ending immigrants coming to our border!

Being missed is the overwhelmed situation involving major underlying agencies and supportive institutions because of this massive immigration. The overwhelming is mainly caused by the immense numbers of illegals entering our country or trying to enter! (Thousands are waiting in Mexico to be admitted. As of Jan 30, there was a caravan of 12,000 heading our way.) Most have broken our laws simply by not coming here legally, period. We want legal immigrants.

The border security agents, ICE, and all levels of local/state police officers, are really feeling overwhelmed by the increasing numbers trying to enter our country and by the numbers already here. Most (75-85 percent) are young men. Some are truly looking for work, but some belong to evil gangs. Many of these criminal illegals are bringing in drugs, mostly harmful fentanyl, opiates and heroin. Or, they are trying to enter again, having previously been sent home. All these brave men and women in uniform must protect us and catch the ones that are criminals or not desirable immigrants. They risk their lives every day! They are overworked and want additional assistance.

Hospitals are overwhelmed, particularly near the border. Physicians and other medical employees are seeing patients that have not been vaccinated or medically cared for in a long time. They are treating the flu, colds, and various intestinal ailments. Other hospitals throughout the country where illegals have settled are experiencing similar difficult health situations. And, these children are in contact with our children.

Thirdly, many schools are overwhelmed with this influx of non-English speaking children. Schools have, in some situations, up to 20 different languages. This is indeed difficult for teachers and children, unless a teacher knows several languages and can give the needed attention to every student. The average size of classes has increased, adding to the difficulty.

Do any of these children attend private schools? Probably not. Do any of our senators or congressmen/ladies have any of these illegals in their children/grandchildren’s schools? I doubt that! Since they are supposed to be determining/writing our immigration policies, shouldn’t we be asking how they are personally affected by this massive invasion?

Are any of these illegal immigrants coming to your children’s school? Are the teachers prepared to give them and your children the time they deserve? These illegal children will be distributed all across the United States.

A prime example of a city being overwhelmed is San Francisco with tents and more tents of homeless people, many illegals. There is urine, feces, and used needles near these tents! This is very sad, disgusting and unbelievable. Check out the videos on the internet.

Other residents in states, especially those near the border, like Texas and Arizona, say they want no more illegals crossing their properties. These residents are being robbed, killed, or threatened by these illegals.

Many illegals are roaming somewhere in our country. How do you like that, not knowing who or where they are?

Our taxes pay for all of these illegals. Many are receiving governmental benefits. These include food stamps, housing, health care, education, day care, etc.

Here are Jan. 25, 2019, statistics. On that day, $479,554,752: aliens crossed this year, 14,030; total aliens in U.S., 25,772,250; total cost this year, $18,835,718,144. WOW!

These figures were provided by the Center for Immigration Studies, Dept. of Homeland Security, Federation for Immigration Reform, and Institute for Defense Analyses. The number arriving and the amount of money needed increase daily.

Our homeless veterans and other homeless citizens need governmental assistance! Shouldn’t they receive the needed support before allowing more illegals to enter?

We do need barriers, especially in the areas where illegals are literally running freely across our borders! We need other electronic devices, drones, more border/ICE agents, etc! Congress must approve the building of walls/barriers where needed. They do work! Walls surround The White House, the Pope’s home, Israel, celebrities’ homes, many senators’ and congress people’s homes, and walls surround President Obama’s home. They build these walls to protect their loved ones inside the walls!

We, as citizens, lock our houses! We welcome those we know and those invited. Let’s “lock the doors” to unknowns/illegals at our border, but open our doors to welcome legal immigrants!

Let’s build the barriers.
